Indigenous University Bridging Program Application

The Indigenous University Bridging Program is a university/college preparation program for students of Indigenous ancestry. It's designed to meet the needs of Indigenous students who are preparing to pursue post-secondary education. The program supports Indigenous learners in preparing for university by combining academic upgrading and first year university courses with Indigenous cultural support.

To apply for the Winter semester, applications are open from Sept. 15 to Nov. 15.
To apply for the Fall semester, applications are open from Feb. 1 to May 15.

You cannot have more than two program applications at MRU. If you have already applied to two other programs, you must withdraw one of them for consideration in IUBP.

Academic History

You are required to report and submit transcripts for every educational institution you have previously attended. All documents (including transcripts) submitted for admission purpioses become the property of Mount Royal University and will not be released to, nor photocopied for, the applicant or anyone outisde of Mount Royal. Documents submitted by applicants who are not accepted or who do not attend are destroyed one year after the start of the semester for which admission was requested.

Please note that once you become a continuing Mount Royal student, you will not be requried to resubmit transcripts previously provided to Mount Royal.

The personal information that you provide to Mount Royal University is collected under the authority of the Post-Secondary Learning Act (s.56) and the Protection of Privacy Act (ss.1(a) & (c)). The information will be used for the purposes of academic administration, the administration of Mount Royal support services, scholarship and financial aid awards, marketing and recruitment activities, and in compliance with data sharing agreements with the Students' Association of Mount Royal.

The University may input the collected personal information into automated systems to fulfill the purposes stated above. This may include such activities as to generate content, evaluate programs or make institutional recommendations and predictions.
